Mary E. Yacobowsky, 93

Mary E. Yacobowsky, 93, of Lancaster, and formerly of Brockton passed away at UPMC, Lititz Hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born in Summit Hill to the late Jacob and Sadie (Frace) Kotzmoyer.

Mary graduated from Summit Hill High School, and then shared 59 years of marriage with her husband Joseph P. ”Mooney” Yacobowsky before his death in 2013.

She worked as a trimmer and inspector in the garment industry. Mary was of the Catholic Faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 173 in Tamaqua. Mary was very involved in the upbring of her granddaughter Maryann Simmons. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch reading the daily newspapers in their entirety.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Ann Kristoff of Orwigsburg, and Barbara Yacobowsky of Lancaster, her granddaughter Maryann Simmons of Cressona, and her great-grandson Collin Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and two brothers.

A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a funeral at 11 AM, on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Spacht-Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 127 S. Broad St, Lititz, PA 17543. Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
