Mary E. Fiorentino, 84
January 12, 2017
Mary E. (Geraci) Fiorentino, 84, of Lancaster, PA, joined her heavenly father in the afternoon of Thursday, January 12, 2017.
Mary was the loving wife of the late George F. Fiorentino, Sr., who passed away in 2015. She was the beloved mother to Cynthia A. (Fiorentino) Henry, wife of Michael E. Henry, of Lancaster and George F. Fiorentino, Jr., husband of Lori D. (Brubaker) Fiorentino, of Holtwood.
Born in Lancaster, Mary was the daughter of Catherine (Spadea) Geraci and Domenic Geraci. Mary was a loving mother and family-first person. Mary worked part time for years and spent many of those years working in the cafeteria at Armstrong World Industries until she retired.
Mary sincerely enjoyed cooking and baking. She was well known for her many Italian dishes, cookies, cakes, pies. Nicknamed Mary the Baker, there were always baked goods at Mary’s house.
She was happiest spending time with family. Cooking the traditional Family Sunday dinner for her children and her grandchildren was one of the highlights of her life. She simply loved having the family home. She was always lending a helping hand to her children and loved spending time with her granddaughters. In her illness, her eyes would still light up at the site of her great-grandson and great-granddaughter.
Mary was an active member of St. Philip the Apostle Roman Catholic Church where she sang in their funeral choir and was a member of the Guys and Dolls Club. She loved to sing and performed with Standing Room Only (SRO), a performance-singing group for retired teachers, for many years.
Along with her two children, Mary is survived by her granddaughters Sarah E. Henry of Lancaster; Megan L. (Henry) Toth, wife of Gregory J. Toth, of Houston, TX; Christy R. Fiorentino and Angela S. Fiorentino, both of Holtwood; and her great grandson Simon M. Toth and great granddaughter Eleanor D. Toth. She is also survived by her sisters Rose Myers, Catherine Corpman, Theresa Caulwell, wife of Ronald Caulwell, and Margaret Weit, wife of Nevin Weit, all of Lancaster.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Marie A. Rittenhouse and brother, Francis “Frank” J. Geraci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. Viewings will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6 to 7:30PM with a Rosary Service to follow, and at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, Lancaster. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary’s name may be made to Catholic Charities, 4800 Union Deposit Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111-3710.

George, Cindy & family, The time I had to spend with Mary at CM was special to me and I truly mean that from bottom of my heart. Knowing we had a bond as she smiled at me every time I got to work with her whether in a group, music and manicures, chats and the one on one time I was blessed to have spent time with her. She was such a lovely and sweet lady. I’ll always carry that smile and her glow in my heart as she was such a sweet lady. I know she was a special wife, mother, grandmother, mother in law, sister, daughter and friend as well. Her joy for life was infectious. Treasure all your memories knowing you had such a warm and kind mother. You will all reunite with her someday as well as with your father whom was also a kind, sweet and caring man! Hugs, Phyllis Ludman … P.S. George, Cindy, Mike and family, please know you both were so good and caring to your mom and I know yas did the very best for her and your dad. Be proud of that as I’m sure they were of you both!

George and Lori, you have the sympathy of all of us haer at Buckwalter Accounting & Tax Services. We did not know your mother, but she must have been a gem. We trust that she is waiting to be reunited with you in glory. There are so many scriptures that encourage us at times like these, not the least of these is the passage in John 11. Also many versus in Corinthins, where Paul talks about Christ’s resurection being the seed which is the foretast of our resurrection. We shall all be changed into a glorious body if we truly belong to Jesus. Pease to you and yours. Paul and Lisa.

Dear George, Lori and the Fiorentino family my condolences, prayers, and love go out to all of you! I remember running into George and Mary at central Market last year and learning of her illness. She is and will always be one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met!! I also loved seeing her sing with the SRO group.
