Mary E. Chase, 82

Mary E. Chase, 82, of Neffsville, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 27, 2015 at home, only to unite at the gates of heaven with her husband, Alvah, whom she loved and missed dearly.
Born in New York City on June 30, 1933 to the late Richard and Mary Pickford, who emigrated from Ireland to Ellis Island in 1931; she was the first born of 13. Mary was a positive and charming person and seldom complained. She lived a simple and godly life, volunteering her time. She was a generous person who cared for others and donated to many good causes. Mary was a good person who taught morality to others.
Mary loved her family and was especially saddened when she lost her nephew, Christopher Pickford, a New York City firefighter, on 9/11. She enjoyed family reunions, Red Lobster, Lawry’s seasoning, watching Judge Judy, and working crossword puzzles.
Mary is survived by her daughter and caretaker, Lori, wife of Henry Mogk and 2 sons, Paul Chase, husband of Maria and Kenneth Chase, husband of Sharon; 5 sisters: Joan, Betty, Cathleen, Susan and Eileen; 2 brothers: Richard and Edward; 10 grandchildren: Henry, Nicole, Jesse, Joshua, Jillian, Natalie, Brittany, Kaeley, Michael and Amanda; 3 great-grandchildren Lily, Mikey and Charlie; and 7 nieces and 11 nephews.
Funeral services for Mary will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Mary’s memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy E, Lancaster, PA 17602.
