Mary E. Bomberger, 90

Mary E. Bomberger, 90, of Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz, died January 9, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Bareville, she was the daughter of the late Frank Kreider Book and Mable Burkhart Book Martin, and she was the wife of Luke Rohrer Bomberger. They observed their 69th Anniversary on January 7. She served as a clerk and church secretary. Mary was a member of Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster.
Surviving in addition to her husband are four children, Donald L. Bomberger (Judith Keener), Harrisonburg, VA, Sue Schrock Faron (Robert), McLean, VA, Sandra Beth Smoker (Mahlon), Himrod, NY, JoAnn Fay Philbin (the late Paul), Scranton, PA; 20 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; a sister Connie West, Lititz; and abrother Robert Book (Joan Barge), Lititz. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Marjorie Ann Eberly (J. Lamar), Kingsley, PA, and an infant granddaughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Landis Homes West Bethany Chapel on Saturday, January 26 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in Mary’s honor to the Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 E Oregon Rd, Lititz, PA 17543.

On behalf of John Kreider and the Kreider family, we send condolences to Luke and the family. So many fond memories of our families visiting together when we were young. Great memories of Luke and my husband Roy flying airplanes on the goat path. I enjoyed seeing Luke and Mary at Landis Homes when I popped in to visit my Dad. I will miss seeing Mary’s smile and her warm greetings. Blessings to all of you.

My husband IRV and I were fortunate to have known Mary. She was a truly a joy to be with and her beautiful smile reflected a warm and open heart. She and Luke created a family that is a testament to their true goodness. May she Rest In Peace.
