Martha R. Rupert, 95, formerly of New Waterford, OH, passed away at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center in Narvon, PA, on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Born in Darlington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Minnie (Harper) Mahon. She was a graduate of Darlington High School. Martha was the wife of the late Raymond C. Rupert.
Martha was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She was well-known for her baking skills, especially for her delicious pies. She was a stay-at-home mom who placed a high value on the education of her children. She also supported them in their sports, all three excelling in football. She was often heard above the crowd cheering for her boys. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God and family were most important in Martha’s life. She was a member of the East Palestine Christian Church.
Surviving Martha are her sons: Theodore “Ted” Rupert, husband of Donna (Snodgrass) of Sun City, FL, Raymond “Chip” Rupert, Jr., husband of Carol (Jackson) of Birdsboro, PA and her daughter-in-law Barbara (Calvin) of Leetonia, OH, and 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Raymond, Martha was preceded in death by her sons Larry and Gary Rupert and 3 sisters and 1 brother.
