Marie Annette (Vitale) Furgerson, 72

Marie Annette (Vitale) Furgerson, age 72, of Brethren Village in Lancaster, PA, peacefully went to be with Jesus on December 10th, after a long illness related to her stroke in 2011.
She was born in Latrobe, PA and lived in Derry, PA, Westmoreland County, the daughter of Alphonse and Mary Vitale. She was a 1960 graduate of Derry Area High School and a 1964 graduate of Seton Hill College (now University) in Greensburg, PA. She loved travel, reading, movies and word games.
She married Donald F. Furgerson in 1964 in San Francisco, CA, and she worked in the Accounting Department for Westinghouse Electric in Pittsburgh, PA and Intel Corp. in Hillsboro, OR. After living in Western, PA, Oregon and Southern California, they moved to Central PA and lived in York for 10 years before moving to the Brethren Village Retirement Community in Lancaster in 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Donald (originally of Lake Orion, MI) and two sons, Darren M. Furgerson of Roseville, CA and Ryan M. Furgerson of Wyomissing, PA, daughter-in-law, Erin Furgerson and her cherished 2 year old grandson, Graeme S. Furgerson, plus sisters, Martha McGinnis of Derry, PA and Marjorie Rondinella of Brownsburg, IN and one brother, Carroll V. Vitale of Ft. Worth, TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to gather at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Monday, December 22 from 7-9 PM to say goodbye to Marie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. James Catholic Church, 505 Woodcrest Ave., Lititz, on Tuesday, December 23 at 10:30 AM. Following Mass and cremation locally, there will be an additional memorial service in the late spring after which Marie will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Derry, PA.
