Maria D. Hatzivasilis, 66
Maria D. Hatzivasilis, 66, of Lancaster died Sunday, March 9, 2008 after a brief illness at Lancaster Regional Medical Center.
Born in Zia, Kos, Greece, Maria was the daughter of the late Dimitris and Paraskevi (Zalalas) Hatzidimitris. She was the wife of Miltiades “Milton” Hatzivasilis of Lancaster.
A homemaker, Maria was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, where she attended Bible Study, and was a member of the Pan-Coen Society. She enjoyed music and reading, especially religious books. Maria loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Antoni Hatzivasilis of Lancaster; and a daughter, Dessie M. Hatzivasilis of Lancaster; granddaughter, Julia M. Hatzivasilis; five sisters: Katina Hatzikalemnios of Sidney, Australia; Argyro Gerasklis of Lancaster; Eirine Kaplanis and Eleni Xenikas, both of Kos, Greece; and Desi Dimitriou Kresge of Mountville; and a brother, Emmanuel Dimitriou of Rawlinsville, PA.
Funeral Services will be held at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Ave. Lancaster, Pa. on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Alexander Goussetis and Rev. Alexander Veronis officiating. A viewing will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park. Please omit flowers.
