I have many wonderful memories of Mac and Ruth when I was growing up. My Mother ,Valone Smith, and my stepfather,Smitty, were very good friends. Over the years we had many good times together and shared many laughs. Mac had a great sense of humor. Her love of dogs, esp. Smokey and Tish, was shown in her work for the SPCA. We enjoyed talking PA Dutch and recalling the old times. I will miss seeing her at the PS bowl games as she was a loyal fan. So long to my dear friend.

Veda Kay Sollenberger Black.

I remember the first time I met Girlie and Polly. It was at Polly’s house on Thanksgiving in 1995. Mollie, Polly and Girlie were drinking their gin and tonic. They were having a discussion on how to say some English words in German and Pennsylvania dutch. The discussion got pretty heated but it was so entertaining to see the three sisters talk about this topic. Girlie always made me laugh. She was so spunky and always had something funny to say. I have a picture of my son, Kinser and her in a scrapbook from a day we had visited. I labeled the picture "double trouble". Grammie (Mollie), would keep us informed of all Girlie’s adventures, from skiing to traveling. Although throughout the years, our visiting was few and far between, she will be missed greatly and always remembered with loving thoughts and memories!

Angie Smith (Marshall and Kinser Smith)
