Margaret W. Hussar, 88

Margaret W. Hussar, 88, of Willow Street, passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008. She was the wife of the late Robert F. “Bunker” Hussar Sr. who died in 1992.

Born in Krobotek, Austria, she was the daughter of the late Franz and Mary (Weber) Werner. Marge came to America in 1929 and her family settled in Allentown. She attended Allentown Central Catholic High School and worked as a lab technician for ATT/ LUCENT technologies participating in the early production of transistors and, later, development of the silicon chip.

Marge was an avid cook, baker and candy maker. She was at home in nature and loved long walks in the woods or along the beach. Marge enjoyed gardening and was an excellent artist working with water colors. She took classes at the Baum Art School in the Lehigh Valley. Perhaps influenced by her husband, Marge developed an interest in watching professional golf and was a big fan of Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods. She always wanted to be a spectator at the Masters- perhaps to see the flowers even more than the golf.

She is survived by her four children Anna Marie, wife of Stephen Sohanyay of Lancaster; Robert Jr., husband of Denise Mirto Hussar, of Harrisburg; Kevin of Willow Street and Christopher, husband of Kathleen Kerr Hussar of Newark, Delaware.

Marge is also the very proud grandmother of Stephen and Simon Sohonyay and Alexandra, Margaret, Grace, and Elizabeth Hussar, along with great grandchildren Madeleine and Jack Sohonyay.

Marge’s friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday (Today) May 6, 2008 at 11a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster with Msgr. Mecurio Fregapane as celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Marge has requested that, if you wish, contributions in her name can be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr. P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, Pa 17604.
