Margaret “Marge, Margie” Alice Weinlein, 65
January 07, 2020
Margaret “Marge, Margie” Alice (McKinney) Weinlein, 65, of Wrightsville, PA, formerly Lancaster, PA passed away on January 7, 2020, after a brief illness with her three sons by her side.
Marge was raised by the late William and Catherine McKinney in Pittsburgh, PA. She is predeceased by her brother Bill and husband John (Jack) of 37 years upon his passing in early 2016. As an Alpha Xi Delta sister, Marge met Jack, a Lambda Chi Alpha brother, during their time at Marietta College (Ohio) and following graduation, they married and started a family in Pittsburgh, PA. In loving support of her husband’s work in broadcasting, media and marketing, Marge wrangled the family during their journeys from Pennsylvania to West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and back again. By trade an English teacher with a flair for drama and speech, Marge enjoyed a variety of challenges across all education levels in various regions of the East Coast that allowed her to eventually find her calling as the retired head of the driver training program for AAA Central Penn in Lancaster, PA. Notorious for her exuberance and engaging demeanor, Marge was known to jump on desks, crack jokes behind pursed lips and generally bring out the best in those 16 to 60 year old students each day. Marge enjoyed spending time with her family, close friends and her furry companion, a plucky mutt named Lizzie.
Marge is survived by her son Sean of Altoona, PA, son Paul, his wife Kate and their son Andy of Lancaster, PA and son Bill, his wife Nikki and their son Rory and daughter Zoey of Katy, TX. Marge is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews in western PA (Matthew, Sarah and Ryan), New Jersey (Bryan his wife Shelley and their children Will, Walker, and Addy) and North Carolina (Tim) in addition to her brother-in-law Ed and his wife Sharon in South Carolina.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Marge will be held on Tuesday, January 14th 2020 at Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with visitation from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
Marge and her family are extremely thankful to Hospice & Community Care of York and FirstLight Home Care of York and the staff at Wellspan York Hospital for their loving and respectful care services provided during a very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the American Cancer Society to promote research, early screening and awareness at https://www.americancancerfund.org/donate/in-memory-of-someone/.

Condolences from the Center for Traffic Safety and its staff. Her loss will leave a very large empty space for everyone who ever worked with her. She was a staunch supporter of our office, and our programs — always volunteering to participate in our events. Making my work so much easier! We/I will miss your sense of humor, your smile, and your support. Love You, Marge!

I send my deepest condolences to Margie’s family and her many, many friends. I know how much she loved all her boys, their wives and the grandkids. It was a privilege and a joy to work with her every day for many years, and I will miss her laugh in my life, but I know that she’s happy to finally be back together with Jack (which probably started with a swift kick in the butt for leaving her down here too soon). May God’s Blessings be upon all who loved Margie. Love, Rick.
