Margaret E Weber, 86

May 17, 2025

Born in Merrimac Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Russell Bowser and Helen (York) Bowser. Growing up as one of six children on a farm she developed a love of animals that continued throughout her life. She was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed training her dogs in obedience and therapy work but most of all, loved horses. She was a riding instructor for many years and ran a large lesson program with her first husband, Robert Waldeck, on the farm where they also raised their children.

Her love of horses continued later in life where she got involved in competitive driving with her second husband, Earl Weber. Together they also founded Weber Cottage Crafts where her talent and creativity with handwoven garments blossomed. Margaret continued to teach throughout her life, teaching riding, handweaving and cooking. Through this passion she became the second mom of many and the stubborn, loving, kind head of a large “found family.”

The widow of Earl Weber, she is loved and remembered by her children, Beth Waldeck and Russell Waldeck, her grandchildren Johnathan Kennedy, Megan (Kennedy) Swisher, Sara (Waldeck) Anflick, Inita (Waldeck) Smith and her two great grandchildren, Samual Anflick and Emory Anflick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 on Saturday June 7th, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send contributions in Margaret’s memory to Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Rd., Lititz, PA 17543.

Beth and family,
We are saddened by the passing of your mother.
She shared her kindness and wealth of knowledge about horses and weaving
with our family and we are forever grateful, and think of her impact on us often.

Sending our condolences and praying for your family. From everything Sara has told us about Grammy, she was a wonderful person and a loving grandmother. I know she will be greatly missed.

I boarded two horses at the stable that Margaret owned and managed with Bob Waldeck. I have fond memories of both the horses and people at the barn. It was sad to see the situation come to an end. She did touch the lives of those who shared her interests, and will be missed.

Hello,
How patient Margaret was with me when I took riding lessons at a “more mature” age.  She helped many gain confidence and pleasure with her guidance whether with canine or equine.
Thank you,
Molly Henderson
