Marcia G. Reus, 90

Marcia G. Reus, 90, lifelong Lancaster resident, passed away at ManorCare Heath Services, Lancaster, PA on Thursday, June 8, 2017. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Amelia Elizabeth Tragesser Reus.

A graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1945, she was a personal caregiver to her mother as a young adult. Marcia worked in bookkeeping for the former King Douglas Hotel, next JC Penney and finally for Watt & Shand Department Store.

She was a devout Catholic and a very active lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church until her illness prevented Marcia from attending. Marcia was a 34 year breast cancer survivor.

Marcia is survived by her sister, Sister Jane Frances Reus of South Bend, IN, her niece Carolyn M., wife of Valentin T. Kruza of Berryville, VA, and her great-nephew Gregory T. R. Kruza and great-niece Meredith M. R. Kruza. Her brother Charles W. Reus preceded Marcia in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with The Rev. Daniel O’Brien as Celebrant. Interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or to Heartland Hospice Services, 3417 Concord Rd., Suite C, York, PA 17402.

I am Kathy Schober’s sister.  I never met Marcia, but have only heard the best of this selfless lady.   She was very sweet and apprecative of ever little thing, including root beer soda’s.  She is at peace, free of any pain……With sympathy and caring.
