Lois Marie (Dussinger) Horst, 85, of Lancaster, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.
Born in Warwick Township, she was the wife of John K. Horst of Lancaster, and the daughter of the late Charles W. and Anna (Felker) Dussinger.
Lois was a 1950 graduate of the Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, and went on to work for many years as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Lititz Family Practice until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, an active member of Fiddler’s Green Camping Club, a long-time member of the Girl Scouts, and a member of the Neffsville Fire Department Ladies Auxilliary.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, Lois is survived by a daughter, Lynne M. Buckwalter and her husband Dale of Lewes, DE; a son, James K. Horst and his wife Cheryl of Milford, DE; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, C. William Dussinger of Lititz and Glenn Dussinger of Lexington, KY; and a sister, Mary Sue Groff of Lampeter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Dussinger.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Rd., Lancaster with Pastor Craig Ross officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
