Lloyd W. Nuss, 97
May 26, 2024
Lloyd W. Nuss, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend during his 97 years on Earth, left this life on May 26th, 2024. He was born in Lancaster and was the sixth child of the late Harry and Emma (Brubaker) Nuss.
Lloyd was a lifelong resident of Lancaster except for his service in the Navy during both World War II and the Korean War. The G.I. Bill facilitated Lloyd’s training as a draftsman. He retired from AMP, Incorporated after 33 years.
When not working, Lloyd enjoyed being active. He played softball, baseball, and enjoyed the social aspects of golfing. He was a Mets’ fan since their early years and the family can report that the Mets won their game the day of his passing. In his later years, Lloyd enjoyed spending time with family, going out for ice cream, doing 1000 piece puzzles, and napping in his favorite recliner. He was generous, social, and kind.
Lloyd was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 3 brothers, and 2 nieces. Lloyd was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by 2 nieces, Linda and Nancy, 2 grand-nieces, 1 grand-nephew, 2 great grand-nieces, 2 great-great grand-nieces and Bob Brubaker, a first cousin.
Lloyd’s family wishes to thank the staff of The Courtyards at Brethren Village (with special gratitude to Keesha, Liz, and Jesse), as well as the staff of Hospice and Community Care of Lancaster, for the quality of care Lloyd received in his final months. The family wishes to thank Grandview Church for the emotional and spiritual support they received during Lloyd’s final months.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Courtyards at Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 (www.bv.org/giving/) or to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601 (www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org).
At the request of Lloyd, no services will be held.
God’s handiwork is honesty and justice. (Psalm 111:7). Lloyd embodied both. We will miss you, Uncle Lloyd.
