Linda Peters, 80
June 22, 1943 - March 08, 2024
“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there has been a trail of happy memories.” On March 8, 2024, Linda passed away peacefully with her daughter Wendy by her side.
On September 2, 2022, Linda celebrated 60 years of marriage with her beloved husband Martin, who preceded her to heaven on May 6, 2023. “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while deeply loving someone gives you courage.” Linda was deeply loved by Martin, who gave her the strength to endure life’s many challenges. Martin deeply loved Linda, giving him the courage to live each day to the fullest in the midst of a serious illness.
Through the years, mom and dad enjoyed many scenic road trips traveling in and outside of Pennsylvania. Some of the favorite places they visited included Williamsburg, VA, Mystic Seaport, CT, Bar Harbor, Maine, Cape Cod, MA, and a ferry ride over to Nantucket Island. Most of all, Linda enjoyed their many road trips to Lycoming County, PA where they enjoyed sightseeing, hiking the trails and relaxing at Pine Creek recreation area, accompanied by one of their many fox terrier pups.
Linda loved interior decorating, collecting “all things old,” eating pizza and chocolate, watching old movies, scenic car rides, and creating the most beautiful flower gardens that Martin would plant and tenderly care for. Mom’s favorite flowers were pink roses, bleeding hearts, cone flowers and false indigo.
Linda spent the last few months of her life living with her daughter Wendy. Her desire was to have known that her grandmother Catherine “Nanny Deiter,” her husband Martin and daughter Wendy were her greatest gifts in life. To Wendy, mom was a beautiful, wounded soul, strong, courageous, and worthy to be loved. I will treasure her in my heart forever.
Linda was the eldest daughter of the late Robert C. and Betty Lefever, she was preceded in death by her husband Martin and sister Jeanne Eichelberger (Ike). She is survived by her daughter Wendy Smith (Scott), sisters Cathy Bachman (Jim) and Deb Kauffman (Mark).
Wendy and Scott would like to thank both friends and family for their love and support during this past year’s difficult journey. In addition, heartfelt thanks to Hospice and Community Care and Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute.
Funeral services will be private.

Wendy,
So sorry to read that your mom went home to be with Nanny and your dad. We had some fun times together especially visiting at Nanny’s apartment on James street and at your dads parents farm in Quarryville. I really miss family. You were a beautiful flower girl.
