Lewis (Lewie) Oswald II

June 07, 2019

What up?! In typical Lewie fashion we’ve got a great story to tell. Grab yourself a nice cold Budweiser and take a seat on your couch. Be sure to have your remote in hand. We DO NOT watch commercials.

We’re pretty sure Lewie came into the world wearing crispy white sneakers and cussing like a sailor. He is the son of Lewis J. Oswald, Linda Fisher, and step son of Randy Fisher. He spent his youth wreaking havoc on the streets of Lancaster along with the best friends anyone could ask for.

Lewie met the love of his life, Krissy, in the 8th grade. It took a good 15 years for them to get it together, but they eventually found their way back to each other. Between that time, Lewie had two children, Desiree’ (wife of Esteban) and Damien. Krissy had Liam (husband of Leah) and Meaghan. Together they became one big dysfunctional family in 2005. If that wasn’t enough two wild grandchildren were added to the mix, Zyaire and Keylandra. They turned Lewie into a softy who they affectionately called Pap. The family circle was completed in 2012 by the addition of his beloved dog Mia (Bear Bear) Oswald. Just like the rest of the kids she never listened to him.

He loved spending his free time with family, friends, partying, attending concerts, football games, and Nascar races. He also loved to travel and ride his motorcycle. He was a ride or die Pittsburgh Steelers fanatic. There were a few times we thought we’d lose him during a game. While we are on the subject of football, Lewie thought Ravens fans are a bunch of squids (but he tolerates a few).

He is the second oldest of the notorious Oswald brothers. He and his four brothers Eric, Keith, Travis and Zach share an unbreakable bond. They’ve made plenty of enemies, but even more friends.

Lewie left behind countless memories and the best laughs. He was intense and infectious. His energy and presence has forever impacted those around him.

Whatever’s, whatever.

Those attending the funeral better come correct.

Lewie’s life will be celebrated Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:00am at the Charles F. Snyder, Jr. Funeral Home and Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543. Friends will be received from 9:30am-11:00am prior to the service.

Motorcycles encouraged. There will be a “final ride” after the service. Please wear Steelers apparel or represent your favorite sports team.

Lewie, it’s been a number of years since we hung out, time passes and life takes us in different directions, but I know you are as real today as you were when we last hung out.  Rest in peace and I know your memories will live on through your family and friends.  My condolences to your family,  I hope you can find peace as time goes on.
I regret I will not be able to make it to the service, because I am out of town.

Lewie, I’m kinda lost for words right now. I can’t believe you’re gone. I’m glad that all your suffering has ended and you’re in a better place now. You’ve been a HUGE part of my life growing up and I’ll never forget one day of it. You were always the life of the party. R.i.p. my friend.

Very sorry I cannot be there on Saturday. My family is away. Lewie was awesome. My fav memories of him are when I drove him to the infamous mountains hut just him and I almost 20 some years ago to surprise trav and Luke there. We jammed out the whole way up, and had some good convos. I took him to an oasis concert back in 2005 cause he always told me how much he liked my fav band, we had a fun time and while tailgating I remember him telling me talking about his family, about how great Damian was doing at football and how proud of him he was. He always called us younger guys Son-yah or Sonya. What up Son-yah? I always thought that was enduring. Rest In Peace lewie.

We always had fun when the “notorious Oswald brothers” (and their teddy bear of a dad) would invade DC for a wild and full of laughter visit. I know his loss will forever be deeply felt by those that love him and I’m so truly sorry that he’s gone. I will always fondly remember the antics and friendship he gave to our family. May he rest in peace now and live on in the hearts of all his family and friends. XOXO to you all!

Linda, Randy, and family,
I am so sorry to see that you had this recent loss.  Wow!  He sounds like an awesome individual – what a great obituary!   Just want you to know that you have my sincere sympathy.  It’s tragic to bury a son, but may your memories and your faith make each passing day a little easier.   I know how truly tough it is to lose a loved one and I’m still struggling with my loss, but we have to keep moving forward, for us and for them.  Love you guys!  Wilma Mays

Dear Krissy and family,                                                                                                                                  I think the number of condolences coming in speaks volumes of how much Lew (I dare not spell it Lou, he warned me many times) meant to so many people. Once I got past the gruff exterior, I found Lew to have a caring heart that would help anyone in need. We would talk sports, music and anything else that came to mind. He knew I loved my Rum and he brought me back a bottle from Jamaica during his last trip there. He was a lot of fun and quite the character. I’m glad I got to know him, if only for a little while. God bless all of you.      Sam Field (coworker of Lew’s at ITT)

He will sure be miss, by his family and his second family( his friends). Since living most of my life in Germany, I did not see many of the gang, but I did hear a lot when I had a chance to talk with my brother Shawn. I always heard about the Oswald’s, Kip, Steve, Pat, and many others. I am thankful to all of you for being there, when I myself was not there for my baby brother. All of you were also there for support for my family when Shawn left us. I consider you all very good friends and family, and share the sadness in saying goodbye to Lewie until we all meet again. Dirk

I loved the words in the obituary, they had me crying and smiling at the same time. The obituary was just as special as Lewie was.

May you always walk in sunshine and God’s around you flow for the happiness you gave us,no one will ever know. It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone a part of us went with you the day God called you home. A million times we needed you, a million times we’ve cried. If love could only have saved you, you never would have died. The Lord be with you and may you rest in peace

So many memories…hangin out at Andys Pizza, partying in McCaskey woods, cruisen the loop, trips to the cabin, and so much more. Lew is part of who we are and he will never be forgotten and always will be missed. There was no lack of laughter or excitment when Lewie was around. A part of our hearts were taken from us and it will take time to heal.  Krissy, you were the perfect complement for him and we are so grateful you both found each other again. From the Frerichs family to all of the Oswalds, we send love, strength, and continued prayers as you all navigate life without him. He was taken too soon, has lived strong, and will always be here, with us all. Rest easy Lewie, we love you and we’ll see you on the other side. All of our love to all of you.  Jay, Bev, Steven, Haley, and Gerald

Many condolences to Krissy and his entire family.  He will definitely be missed but left us all with many stories and memories to keep his spirit alive for years to come.   Lewie may you rest in peace.

Ironic how an obituary can make one smile in his memory as this one did, with light fun spirit, just like Lewie. Always had ya smiling and laughing.

I am so very sorry for your loss! As far as obituaries go, this was the BEST and from what I remember about him, very fitting! I met Louie at the pizza shop that was right near McCaskey (now a bridal shop??). I was saddened to hear of his passing and my condolences go out to his family, and while nothing beats having a person “here in the flesh”, it sounds like there are plenty of stories his friends and family will be able to share to keep his spirit alive! Thinking of you all in this difficult time.
