Leota Williamson Miller, 93, formerly of 331 E. Second Ave, Lititz, passed away January 9, 2025. Born in Nanticoke, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Pearl Thompson Williamson, and the wife of the late Daniel Wagaman Miller, who died January 2007.

Leota graduated from Nanticoke High School and attended Bloomsburg State Teacher’s College. She was retired from Warwick Middle School where she was a tutor in reading and math for twenty-six years.

Leota was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lititz, where in her earlier years she taught Sunday school and Bible school. She was a member of the Faith, Hope, and Charity Class and The Women’s Guild. Leota was a charter member of the Lititz Lioness Club. She received the Lioness of the Year in 2001. She was remembered for her handwriting, inherited from her father.

She is survived by a daughter Joan, wife of James Hess, Landisville, a son, Reid, husband of Stacy Nicksic Miller, Lititz, 5 grandchildren: Cynthia Doughtery, Jill LaVenice, Brian Hess, Haley Miller, and Trey Miller, 7 great-grandchildren, and a nephew Brad Steif of Lancaster.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 W. Orange St, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
