Leonard C. “Lenny” Richelderfer, 70

Leonard C. “Lenny” Richelderfer, 70, of Mountville, PA passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. He was the son of the late Ceylon A. and Dorothy (Scheile) Richelderfer.

Lenny was the husband of Jean (Burke) Richelderfer of 45 years. They were married on July 17, 1965.

Lenny retired as a supervisor from National Bearings Company after 44 years.

Lenny attended J.P. McCaskey High School and was a member of the Chickies Rock #307 LOOM.

Lenny enjoyed hunting in his early years and fishing in his later years. He loved OCMD where he had a second home. One of his proudest fishing moments was catching a White Marlin off the coast of OCMD in 2006. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and was always the life of the party and was well known to sing the “Skeeter” song to anyone who would listen.

Surviving in addition to his wife, two sons, Leonard C. Jr., husband of Mary, of Lancaster, Russell Lepard, husband of Alex, of OH, three daughters, Kimberly Rose, wife of Nick, of Lancaster, Susan Leed, of Lancaster, Lori Richelderfer, of Columbia, 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a brother, Russell, husband of Ruth, of Willow Street, and a sister Ruth Adams, of Leesport. He was preceded in death by a brother Ceylon A. “Smiler” Richelderfer Jr.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home 414 E. King St. Lancaster, PA 17602 at 11am with the Rev. Msgr Thomas Smith officiating. Viewings will take place at Snyder’s on Thursday from 6-8pm and again on Friday from 10-11am. Interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lenny’s memory to Resurrection Catholic School 521 E. Orange St. Lancaster, PA 17602 or to Hospice of Lancaster County PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604.
