Lee Anne Surrena, 89

January 13, 2024

Lee Anne (née Watson) Surrena, 89, peacefully passed away on January 13, 2024. She had been a resident of Lancaster County since 1983, and was formerly of Philadelphia and Abington Township, PA.

Lee Anne was married for 25 years to the late Fredrick A. West and, later, for 33 happy years to the late Jesse E. Surrena.

Lee Anne and Jesse shared a passion for square dancing with the Swing Thru’s Club of Lititz. Their adventures took them out west to visit family and on many delightful cruises exploring Europe, Hawaii, and the Caribbean.

Throughout her professional life, Lee Anne was employed as a legal secretary, an inventory control clerk, an accounting clerk, and a bank teller. After retirement she spent much time volunteering and working with the blind association.

In her leisure time, Lee Anne found joy in activities such as knitting, reading, solving puzzles, and engaging in card games with friends. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

She was a loving mother to Susan Lee Doelp (Charles) and Scott F. West (Nancy). Her grandchildren, Stephanie Doelp, Zachary Doelp, Jonathan West, Jennifer West, and Julianne West brought immense joy into her life. She was the sister of the late Harry Ross Watson (Barbara), and is survived by their family: Ross, Derek, Chris, Jeff, and Nicole, along with their children. She is also remembered by step grandchildren Jessica Primm and Jason Primm.

Lee Anne will be laid to rest alongside her husband Jesse at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery January 31, 2024, following a memorial service held at 10 am at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street PA 17584.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lee Anne’s honor may be made to VisionCorps 244 N. Queen Street, Lancaster, PA 17603

We would like to offer our condolences to your family on the passing of Lee Ann. I did Lees manicures and pedicures for many years. Amy was the client who followed her so we became the Friday afternoon nails and wine club!!! We had many wonderful Fridays together with lots of laughs! Lee was a very sweet lady with a great sense of humor!
