Lauren R. Lenahan, 34
September 29, 2024
Lauren R. Lenahan, 34, of New Cumberland, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Robert and Joan (Hocker) Heckrote. She was the wife of Jason Lenahan and they were married for 6 years.
A 2009 graduate of Penn Manor High School, Lauren graduated from Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in 2014 and becoming an RN and furthered her education at Penn State Global Campus, earning her BSN in 2020. For the last four years, she dedicated her skills and heart as a Senior Professional Staff Nurse at the UPMC Westshore Operating Room, where her radiant personality and compassionate nature made a lasting impact on patients and colleagues alike. Lauren’s love for life was matched only by her passion for travel, exploring new places and creating memories with those she adored. Her family and friends were her greatest treasures, and she was a true people person, always ready to lend a hand or share a smile. A fierce advocate for finding a cure for Sarcoma, Lauren’s spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Lauren is survived by her husband, Jason Lenahan; her parents, Robert and Joan Heckrote; her maternal grandmother, Ethel Hocker; her siblings, Allisen (Greg) King, and Nathan (Lynelle) Heckrote; and her nieces, Vail Heckrote and Brooklyn King.
Friends and family will be received from 4PM to 6PM on Friday, October 4, 2024 at LCBC in the West Wing Auditorium, 2392 Mount Joy Rd., Manheim, PA 17545. A memorial service will follow beginning at 6PM. When arriving, please enter through the Auditorium South entrance. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lauren’s name to the Sarcoma Research Fund through the following link: Giving Page — Pittsburgh Cure Sarcoma.

My heart goes out to Jason and Lauren’s family and friends. I had the privilege of working with Lauren in the OR and I told her so many times what an extraordinary nurse she was. It was always a joy when she was in my room. Her smile could light up a room. Praying for all of you as you mourn. May you feel the presence and comfort of God. Rest easy Lauren. Love you always!😘❤️

Dear Ones, I cannot express the sadness in our hearts at the passing of precious Lauren. She was surely a gift and that wonderful gift will be missed forever. Our only consolation is that she is with our Lord and will never suffer again. Please know that our hearts, love, thoughts and prayers will be with you until somehow God will soften this terrific loss. Also know that we love each of you so very much! Pat, Mitch, Mickey, Steven, Brian and their families.
