Kimberly E. Haverstick, 57

April 24, 2017

Kimberly E. Haverstick, age 57, passed into the arms of Jesus at home on Monday, April 24, 2017 after a 2 ½ year battle with cancer. Kimberly was the wife of John R. Haverstick and together they celebrated 30 years of marriage on August 21, 2016. She was born in Lancaster on March 27, 1960, and was a daughter of the late Raymond W. & Helen E. (Howery) McNeil.
Kimberly was a member of Central Manor Church of God where she served as choir director, a leader in the AWANA program and was active in Women’s Ministry. In addition, Kimberly served on the Board of Directors and was Dining Hall Manager at Central Manor Camp meeting for many years. She graduated from Oxford High School and Millersville University and worked as an Accountant, retiring in June 2016 from B & F Partners after 23 years.
She enjoyed camping with her family and friends, traveling, gardening and swimming, but her greatest enjoyment and satisfaction came as a loving wife and mother. Kimberly was devoted to her husband and three children who survive her, Matthew R. Haverstick of Lancaster, Heather E. Haverstick of Millersville, and Andrew J. Haverstick of Washington Boro. Kimberly is also survived by a sister Constance M. Jones of Homosassa, Florida, and two brothers, Marc W. McNeil of Fair Hill, Maryland and Kevin W. McNeil (Kelli), of Elkton, Maryland. In addition to her parents, Kimberly was predeceased by a brother William McNeil.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, May 1 at 11:00 AM from Central Manor Church of God, 387 Penn Street, Washington Boro, PA. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Viewings will be at the church on Sunday, April 30 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday prior to service.
The family wishes to thank all of the amazing people from Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Center, and Hospice and Community Care for their incredible help and comfort during this long journey. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Kimberly’s name to Central Manor Church of God, 387 Penn St, Washington Boro, PA 17582 or Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O.Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Kim was one of the sweetest & most beautiful person I knew.  I met Kim when I started going to the United Methodist Church in Oxford in 1973.  She shined with positiveness and was always a friend to many.  Fly high Kim, your family is waiting for you.  Hugs & prayers to her family.

Our deepest sympathy and prayers for the Haverstick family.  Kim is now rejoicing in the arms of her heavenly Father!  What a glorious thought of her.  Our prayers are that God would comfort you and give you the stregnth to learn to live without Kim here on Earth, John, Heather, Matthew and Andrew as you grieve the loss of such a wonderful wife and mother.  Kim and I spoke on the phone every few years to keep caught up, but I have so many fond memories of our children playing together, attending kindergarten together, sharing our faith with each other, canning, freezing a mountain of corn, gardening.  Serving the Lord was Kim’s passion and that meant loving her family and being the best wife, mom, friend and person you could ever pray for in your life.  I know I will always be blessed because my life was touched by Kimberly Haverstick!

Dear John & Family,   We are so very sorry for your loss.  I always enjoyed talking to Kim and seeing the two of you at various functions.  May you find some comfort knowing she is with the Lord now and no longer suffering.  She was truly an amazing and very special person.  She will truly be missed by many!  Our deepest sympathy!  Jerry & Dori Offenbaker
