Kevin P. Parise, 42

June 16, 2017

Kevin P. Parise, 42, of Lititz, PA passed away on June 16 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy after a courageous four year battle with brain cancer. Kevin was born in 1975 in Beckley, West Virginia but was raised in Lebanon, PA. He was the son of Thomas and Catherine (Kacer) Parise, Lebanon. Kevin and his wife, Karen (Benton) Parise were married 14 years on June 14.
A 1993 graduate from Lebanon Catholic High School, Kevin received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Millersville University and an MBA from Villanova University. He worked for Susquehanna Bank for 16 years, most recently as Vice President of Finance.
In addition to his wife and parents, Kevin left behind three daughters, Alexandra, Jocelyn and Mackenzie, all at home. He will be missed by his brother Thomas Parise, (married to Melissa), of Archbald, PA; sister Katie Belawske (married to Peter), of Marietta, GA; and sister Anna Hatten (married to Eric), of Memphis, TN; his parents-in-law Lois and Bud Benton, of Lancaster, and nine nieces and nephews.
Kevin loved his family, dogs and sports. One of his favorite things to do was coach his “girls” in both basketball and softball. He loved helping them and watching them in all the sports and activities in which they participated. Kevin played sports when he was younger and as an adult loved watching all sports especially Detroit Tigers baseball. Kevin and his family attend St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster, where Kevin served on the finance committee and helped with Sunday School.
Kevin was a strong, loving person. He fought his cancer with everything he had. He amazed everyone with his strength to keep fighting.
Services will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601 on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. Visitation will be held from 9AM-11AM and a funeral service will follow at 11AM. To Kevin’s family, thoughts and prayers are with you as you navigate through this very difficult time.  I had the pleasure of working with Kevin at Susquehanna Bank.  Kevin was always pleasant and extremely helpful.  Even through his fight he pushed forward and continued smiling and laughing on a daily basis.  Kevin spoke a lot of his precious girls.  He was so proud of them.
Kevin will be missed.  Fly High Kevin, Go Cowboys!

For Karen, Alexandra, Jocelyn, Mackenzie and other family members:
When Kevin joined Susquehanna, having come from Rite Aid Corporation in 2000, he became an important and unique part in building our company by providing value, both as an individual contributor and as he advanced into leadership positions.  He improved upon many processes, provided various opportunities for associates, some of whom we shared over our time at SUSQ, and helped to build the Finance Team to something better and better each day….  So many of us appreciate his contributions to building a valuable holding company, within our community,  that now endures as an important part of BB&T.  Kevin was thoughtful, reliable, and demonstrated his care and concern for associates and our company.  His fight with cancer was valiant and I will never forget Kevin for how he persevered at work and otherwise, whether good times or not so good.  You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as his most significant aspect and accomplishment in all his life.      Karen Gerdes, previous HR partner

To Kevin’s family, my condolences. Kevin was a grade below me, and was a great kid then, so it’s no wonder he grew to be great man now. I remember playing football on the high school team and he was tough. He was also funny. I enjoyed laughing with him on and off the field. He will be missed, but remembered always.

I have memories of Kevin that go all the way back to first grade at St. Mary’s Elementary School. We played CYO basketball together for several years, and eventually we learned many life lessons while playing football for Lebanon Catholic High School.   I am not surprised to read about the strength Kevin showed during his battle with cancer, as he was always resolute with everything he experienced on and off the field.  Please accept my deepest sympathy.
Warmest Regards,
Ed Krankowski

To Kevin’s Family, my deepest sympathies. I haven’t seen Kevin since the day he graduated from LC, and I was two years behind him, but I remember him as a very kind, fun and Happy person who was just a joy to be around. Though it’s been more than 20 years since, he’s one of those people I’ll always fondly remember.
