Kevin Michael Wainwright, 64, passed away November 27, 2025, at his home in Quarryville, PA. Kevin was surrounded by his family as he made his passage to his Heavenly Father. He was born February 21, 1961, to the late John Wesley Wainwright, III and Joann Bowen (Haycraft), in Newport News, VA.

In addition to his mother, Kevin is survived by his wife, Candi D. Wainwright (Burkett). His death comes two days before their 29th wedding anniversary. Kevin is also survived by his son, Seth D. Wainwright (Lauren Poling), of Mechanicsburg, PA, daughter, Alissa R. Leach (Daniel) and grandson Aidan Leach of Lititz, PA, stepdaughter Andrea R. Rivas (Mark) and grandchildren, Avery Rivas, Connor Rivas, Leah Rivas, and Elyse Rivas all of Martinsburg, WV, his paternal aunt, Janet Kessler of Newport News, VA, maternal uncle, David Haycraft of Knoxville, TN, and multiple cousins. In addition to his father, Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, John Wesley Wainwright, IV and sister, Deborah Wainwright.

Kevin had a God given talent for all things mechanical and began his work history as a ride mechanic for Busch Gardens, VA. He also worked for the Newport News Shipyard and was especially proud that he was involved in the last refueling of the aircraft carrier Enterprise and that he was invited to go on sea trials for a submarine that he worked on. He moved from Virginia and worked mechanical maintenance for Universal Forest Products in Ranson, WV and First Urban Fiber in Hagerstown, MD. Kevin was last employed by HPS, Inc. in Chambersburg, PA and then West Deptford, NJ as a mechanical lab engineer until 2021 when Lewy Body Dementia made it impossible for him to continue to work. Despite his diagnosis, Kevin continued to be a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

He enjoyed hockey, racing go-carts, scuba diving, swimming, water skiing, fishing, and running. He loved vacationing at Outer Banks, NC, Colorado, and Florida.

Kevin’s family will greet guests from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of his Life at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, January 17, 2026, with Chaplain John M. Lanza officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584.
