Kenneth W. Urban, 64
October 05, 2023
In loving memory of Kenneth W. Urban, affectionately known as “Ken” and “Flounder”:
Kenneth W. Urban, 64, a lifelong resident of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at home. His departure leaves a void that can never be filled, as he was a beloved figure in both his family and community.
Ken was born to Mildred J. (Hersh) and Reed Urban, and his memory will forever remain in their hearts. He was a loving husband to Jodi (Eager) of Lancaster and a devoted father to his daughter, Katrina “Katie” Urban of York. Ken was a proud grandfather to Caitlin, McKenna, and Gianna. He cherished the moments spent with them and treasured their bond. Also surviving Ken is his brother, Ronald.
In addition to his human family, Ken also had a special place in his heart for his furbabies, Prudence and Piper, who brought joy and companionship into his life.
He was a member of several organizations, including the 8th Ward Club, Lancaster VFW Post 1690, Alert Club, Germania Band Club, FOE #84, Strasburg Sportsman’s Club, and Amvets #19. Ken was a true sports enthusiast and had a passion for darts, shuffleboard, bowling, golf, softball, poker, and pool. He enjoyed the thrill of gambling and sipping blackberry brandy and having a Yuengling with friends.
A Graveside Service to honor Ken’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Riverview Burial Park, located at 1100 South Duke Street, Lancaster, PA 17602.
Ken’s love extended to his cherished pets, Oliver and Nash, who had a special place in his heart.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society, two causes close to Ken’s heart.
Ken’s laughter, love, and zest for life will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves a legacy of warmth and the importance of cherishing the moments that bring people together.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 12PM-4PM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Riverside Camping Association, 730 E. Strawberry St., Lancaster, PA 17602

So sorry to see this. I knew he and his brother Ronnie when they were kids in the big town of Smithville. We’d play baseball in the meadow just about every day. God bless the family.. Althea {Shaubach} Morley
