Aunt Leann, Mike, Rick and Karen… May God bless each of you during this difficult time. It’s hard to understand human life and the suffering on earth but it is easy to understand that your husband, and father’s, spirit lives on and a very real part of each of you daily! I’ll always remember Uncle Dick as a quiet and dedicated man who was deeply devoted to his family and church. What a great example for each of us to follow! The world has lost a beautiful spirit that helped so many by his examples. May each of you have peace knowing your father is with you every day ~ God Bless you all and I continue to pray for each of you! Cousin Laurie Serrao (Tom and Juanita Hesseling’s daughter)

Dear Leann, Mike, Rick and Karen,
We know the pain you are feeling because you had to say goodbye to your husband and father so suddenly. Dick was the best man at our wedding almost 55 years ago and he has been the best man in our lives ever since. Dick is enjoying Heaven now and is very happy to be with Jesus. He was such a wonderful man and loved by so many for his very kind ways. We, and our entire family, will keep your dad and mom and all of you in our daily prayers. We will miss him very, very much!!! God bless all of you!!! Love and prayers, Tom & Juanita Hesseling & family

My heart goes out to all the family.  We held a candlelight prayer vigil tonight in memory of him.  He spent every day having dinner with Leann.  They were married for as long as I have been on this earth and that is very rare these days.  God Bless Dick and may God bless each and every one of Dick’s family members.

Linda Kohn (niece on Leann’s side)

I miss you dad.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Your father was a great man! Mom & Dad always talked so good about him and your mother. We all enjoyed traveling out to Lancaster over the years! The shore, caves, pool, Amish (now we have a large community right here) and just enjoying family! Know that we are with you at this hard time and give your mother hugs from the Kendrick’s in Iowa. We need to keep the family connected… if you are every traveling this way let us know. Maybe sometime we can travel your way! Love Marcia Kendrick Wessel

Dear Cousins, Please accept my deepest sympathies at your Dad’s passing. The wonderful military picture is the Dick I remember so well. What a good guy he was. I love the smile. As a kid I loved to watch the baseball games in the quarry!!! You were truly blessed to have Dick in your lives. I do wish we here in Dubuque had seen more of him and all of you over the years. I guess that is what life does to us. Do come here sometime. We would love to see you. Blessings. Carol Bitter (Marion’s daughter)
