Kathy E. Lashinsky, 61
April 17, 2020
Kathy E. Lashinsky, 61, of Lancaster, passed away at her residence on Friday, April 17, 2020.
She was the wife of Clair T. Lashinsky with whom she shared 40 years of marriage this past July. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Mary Ellen Howe Wirth and Donald E. Wirth of New Holland.
Kathy had her own house cleaning business for nearly 30 years in the Lancaster area. She had also previously worked at K-Mart in East Towne Mall as well as the former Channel Home Center.
She was an active member of Faith Bible Fellowship Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School.
She enjoyed horseback riding, decorating for the seasons and holidays, gardening, hiking, painting, baking and cooking. She loved to sing all the time and if she knew a song that came on the radio, she sang it for you.
In addition, her husband and father, Kathy is survived by her children: Crystal D. and David T., both of Lancaster; her grandsons David M. Lashinsky, Jakai K. Frey, and Damon Lashinsky; her great granddaughter Kaileanne and her brother, Daniel E. Wirth of Tucson, AZ.
Memorial Services celebrating Kathy’s life will be held at a later time at Faith Bible Fellowship Church, for which an announcement will be published or you may contact her husband, Clair, for updated information.

The sweet ones are always called first, from earth
Just like our beautiful Kathy Wirth.
(Who was really Lashinsky but there was no rhyme
That I could think of, in my mind)
Beauty, kindness and genuine goodness, were all that were found, if you looked through her eyes
Now she is looking down upon us from the heavenly skies.
She fought her fight, she was a brave soul,
Who’s outlook on death should be told:
“I am good either way: the longer I live, the better the day
But when I go, I will be with Mom, Aunt Rosene and especially our Lord,
Who have gone before me, but I will meet them for sure.”
She always had a positive outlook on life; we would do good to mimick her way,
May we remember her brightness, and let it guide us each day.
Kathy, you were the sweetest soul we knew,
Not just family, but friend true and through!
Love, Larry, Kath and Travis

I met Kathy when we were in elementary school. We were neighbors with only a horse pasture between our houses. We roamed the pastures and climbed the quarries, had a lot of fun sledding in Petter’s field, endless hours jumping on Weaver’s trampoline, and never forget agitating Kathy’s older brother, Dan! About a month ago, Kathy reminded me that we both had our tonsils out at LGH the same day (I was 6 /she was 7) – She was up bouncing around on her bed (I was not)! I will always remember Kathy for her smile and her positive never give up attitude. She could always make me smile! She fought a tough battle. My sympathy and love to Clair, Dan, and the family.
