Kathryn K. “Kay” Lingle, 77

Kathryn K. “Kay” Lingle, 77, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of A. Clair and Elizabeth Pontz Kessler. Kay was the loving wife of Daniel T. Lingle and They would have observed 56 years of marriage this January. She was a proud graduate from Conestoga Valley High School and later went on to obtain her master’s degree in special education from Millersville University. Kay’s love for education took her to Lancaster and Lebanon IU13 where she helped write the curriculum for both the Pre-School and adolescents. She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster, where she was very active in the church archives.
Kay had a deep interest in history and was a living historian and reenactor. She arranged foreign tours and was the social coordinator for the entire family gatherings and friends’ group parties, large or small, and was always expected to bring chips and wine. The Fulton Opera House was where she volunteered for a great portion of her time. She had a great love for music and was a talented saxophone player in the CVHS, Malta, and Millersville University Bands. Her family remembers her for her big heart, the patience she showed with others, and her selflessness, and especially her intense love for Wendy and endless persistence that Wendy be treated fairly.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Dan, is their daughter, Wendy Lingle. Also surviving cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by a cousin “Billy”, her parents and her brother, Robert Kessler.
