Kathleen Patricia “Pat” (Caskey) Zeller, 85

January 04, 2019

Kathleen Patricia “Pat” (Caskey) Zeller (85), beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother-to-be of Lancaster, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019. She was blessed to have her loving family by her side, including her grandchildren, as she celebrated the holiday season. She was the loving wife of late Robert Paul Zeller Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Pat was born in Lancaster, PA, and raised on Cabbage Hill. She was the daughter of late Roland F. and Kathryn (Smith) Caskey.
Pat was a 1951 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. While Pat was a receptionist at WGAL TV, she met her husband Bob. Together they went on to run a successful travel agency, which helped foster their love of travel including time spent abroad in Germany.
She was a gifted decorative artist and extremely talented quilter whose crafts will be cherished forever. Pat was also passionate about history, spending time watching World War II documentaries, and was an avid reader.
Nanny, as she was known to all her grandchildren, was most at home when she was surrounded by her entire, growing family. She was known to have suited up and played street hockey with her grandsons and taught her grandchildren painting and sewing. She rarely missed a milestone event in their lives whether it was a sporting event, graduation, music performance or dance recital. Nanny always loved her visits to Central Market and the corn wagon, and she always had a delicious homemade meal at the ready for any visitors.
Pat was a lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lancaster where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of Altar Rosary Society, Women’s Club, and taught Children’s Liturgy of the Word regularly during mass. She also served as an Extraordinary Minister distributing communion to the homebound and was an adorer.
Pat is survived by her four children: son Robert (wife Sue), son Stephen, daughter Nadine Washuta (husband Ken) and son David (wife Deb) and had ten grandchildren: Nicole Zeller, Kayla Resh (husband Mike), Ryan Zeller, Abigail Zeller, Miriam Zeller, Joanna Zeller, Natalie Zeller, Andrew Washuta (fiancé Seneca Thornley), Harry Washuta, Nick Washuta. Pat is blessed to have one great grandchild on the way, Emerson Resh. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Caskey, husband of Sally, of Elizabethtown, PA, and sister Janice C. Stork, of Lancaster, PA.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Rita Snyder, Mary Kline and Ellen Supko; and brother Leo Caskey.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Allan Wolfe as celebrant, 440 Saint Joseph Street, Lancaster. The family will receive guests at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery, 170 Charles Road, Lancaster.
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Kathleen “Pat” Zeller to St Joseph Catholic Church, 440 Saint Joseph Street, Lancaster 17603, or to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.

Condolences to the Family

January 10, 2019

Our dear friends, Pat and Bob are now together again. We had such good times with them and miss them terribly. They were married a week before we were and came home early from their honeymoon to attend our wedding. What great friends. Heaven has gained two dynamic personalities. Our heartfelt sympathy to all the family.
