Kathleen A. Gorlaski, 94
November 25, 2024
Kathleen A. Gorlaski, 94, of Moravian Manor, known to her friends as Kay and her family as Dolly, passed away on November 25, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Dunmore, PA she was the daughter of the late Kathleen (Spathelf) and Charles Harkins.
She was the loving wife of 64 years to Joseph J. Gorlaski, who died in 2019. They shared their lives together in East Hempfield Township for over 55 years.
Kay will be remembered as a very sweet and caring person who always greeted you with a smile. She shared this caring spirit as a Nursing Assistant for two decades in her work at the Lancaster Osteopathic Hospital. Kay was an avid gardener, spending hours enjoying the outdoors. She was also a loyal Phillies fan always tuning into the evening game. Kay was recently honored as a 50-year member of Zion Lutheran Church in Landisville.
Kay’s true passion was her family. Whether a sporting event, dance recital or the numerous birthday parties over the years, Kay was sure to be present in support.
Kay is survived by two daughters, Ruth Bernhardt, wife of Tim, of East Petersburg, and Karen Shiley, wife of Dave, of Virginia Beach, and a son Joseph Gorlaski, husband of Joan, of Lititz, six grandchildren and spouses and 14 great-grandchildren. Kay is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her granddaughter Alycia, wife of Nate Andros and brothers Charles, Christian and Jack and a sister Peggy.
Funeral Services will be private for the family at the Moravian Manor Chapel and interment will be in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 85 E. Brandt Blvd., Landisville, PA 17538.

Dear Karen,
I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of your mom. I can remember her the whole way back to second grade when you lived in Homeland! She always seemed so sweet and gentle, and I know she and my mom enjoyed some times at exercise class years back. I hope your lifelong memories will bring you some comfort at this time of loss.
