June Keethe Richardson, 91

June Keethe Richardson, 91, formerly of 500 Valley Rd., Lancaster, passed away on October 9, 2006 at Moravian Manor, Lititz, PA.

Born in Buffalo, NY on June 3, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Rose Rebstock & Alexander Keethe.

As a young child she traveled from Buffalo, NY across the country by car with her parents and twin brother, Lawrence.  Camping along the way the family eventually settled in CA.  June attended Junior College in Santa Monica and then worked for many years in the publicity department at MGM Studios.  She worked with numerous celebrities including, Clark Gable & Elvis Presley.  In CA she was an active beach volleyball player.

June married Andrew Richardson (originally from Glasgow, Scotland) in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1954.  Andy worked for Armstrong Industries for many years and the couple spent time living in Virginia & Philadelphia prior to settling in Lancaster in the early 1960’s.  June & Andy were avid golfers and long time members at Media Heights Country Club.  June hit a hole-in-one there in 1997.

After Andy’s passing in 1998 June continued to golf and live a vibrant life until 2003 when she became ill with Alzheimer’s disease.  In the last few years she was warmly & compassionately cared for by the wonderful staff at Moravian Manor.  June is survived by a nephew, Larry Keethe of Sacramento, CA and Andy’s sisters, Betty & Jean and their families in Scotland.  She will be also loving missed by close neighbors and friends including Sarah & David Holt of Lancaster.

A gathering of friends will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2006 from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the home of Sarah and Dave Holt, 430 Valley Road, Lancaster, PA
