Julie M. Zourides, 81
Julie M. Zourides, 81, of Lancaster, passed away February 12, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Julie was born March 9th, 1931, in Manhattan, NY, and was the daughter of the late Theodoros and Ourania (Papaioannides) Roussis
She is survived by her husband, Andrew G. Zourides, and this past October celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Julie graduated from the Taft High School in Bronx NY. Prior to moving to Lancaster, she and Andy lived in Somerville, NJ and also lived in Schenectady, NY.
She was a longtime member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
She worked at the Lancaster Court of Common Pleas as a receptionist, at Darmstaetter’s Gift Shop, and other businesses in New York City and Schenectady.
Julie enjoyed oil painting, for which she won several awards, making reverse glass tinsel, painting, designing & sewing clothing, dancing, poetry writing, traveling, and vacationing. She was a member of the Lititz Art Assoc., Quadrille Dance Club, a former member of the Lancaster County Art Assoc., and the Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club. Julie most especially loved her family, friends and had an outgoing and lively spirit.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are her two children: George A. Zourides, husband of Denise of Berwick, PA, Nia J. Annick, wife of Peter E., of Lancaster, five grandchildren, Andy, Steven, and Julianna Zourides, and Daniel and Zachary Good, and one brother Michael Roussis PH.D., husband of Renae, of Smithtown, NY.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10:30am from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 64 Hershey Avenue, Lancaster, PA. Viewings are Monday 7:00-9:00pm at the Charles F. Snyder funeral Home & Crematory 3110 Lititz Pike with the Trisagion Service at 8:00pm and again from 9:30-10:30AM on Tuesday at the Church. Interment will be at Landis Valley Mennonite Cemetery.
