Judy Kay Irizarry, 65
March 05, 2025
Judy Kay Irizarry, 65, was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Hershey Medical Center, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John Rohrer and Ruth Ellen Smuck Bear. Judy and her husband, David N. Irizarry, were married just shy of 39 years; they loved, laughed and took on life with one another. She first worked at Jamesway, where she met her husband and later took her career to Y&S Candies.
Judy had a love for the outdoors, camping and traveling to their cabin, “Lovebird Inn”. When enjoying the great outdoors, it was either riding four wheelers or on the back of her hubby’s motorcycle. Crafts were another passion of Judy’s where she could embrace her creativity. She was known for her great cooking, especially her delicious pork and sauerkraut. More than anything, she cherished time with her family, especially her grandkids who lovingly referred to her as “Crazy Nanny”.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband, David N. Irizarry, Daughters, Melissa Kay Strine, Jessica Irizarry and her partner Sandro Mazzola, Maritza Garriga wife of Kevin, Allysha Scipio, 12 grandchildren, a brother, Billy Bear, and her dear friends, Marybeth, Anna, and Stephanie. Preceding her in passing are siblings, Mary Ann Creasy “Sissy”, John Bear, and Bob Bear.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Judy’s funeral service at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz PA 17543, on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:30 AM. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Those desiring may send contributions in Judy’s name to the American Heart association, https://www.heart.org/?form=FUNELYZXFBW, or to PA Breast Cancer Coalition, https://www.pabreastcancer.org/donate/.

Uncle Dave and my beautiful cousins, I am so very sorry that Aunt Judy passed and so very young. Some of the fondest memories from my childhood were time spent with your family. You always made us feel so loved and welcomed us with open arms and many hugs! I regret the distance I allowed time and space to put between us since my dad’s passing in 2016. Aunt Judy had a beautiful laugh and her smile was contagious (in fact, I have her smile – genes run strong on the Bear side 😊). I am keeping all of you in my prayers daily and I will see all of you Thursday as we say goodbye to Judy. My deepest sorrow and love to all of you ❤️

Dave, girls, grandchildren and great grandchildren. My deepest condolences go out to each and everyone of you. Your mom was always a great sister in law to me. I really enjoyed spending the time I got to with all of you. I’m so sorry there wasn’t more times. You all should know why. I was in and out of your lives not because I wanted to be. I had a lot of fun with your mom when I had the chance. Your mom and dad always had a open door for us. They made me really feel like family and my children. I wish I would have known I never would have the chance to spend more time with her. I really regret that I didn’t come around after her brother had died. I know she would have definitely invited me in to her home. My heart goes out to you Dave. I know. Judy loved you with every fiber in her. She loved her girls and grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. You all were her world. I will not forget her laughter and beautiful smile. When she loved her friends , she truly each one of you. She loved Dave’s parents and siblings so very much. She would tell me how great they were to her. Life goes by so fast it’s so sad. I truly loved her with all my heart. That also goes for you Dave and you girls. You will always be family to me. I really wish she could have meant my husband. She would be so happy for me that I found someone that treats me like a queen. I definitely will be there for all of you at her service. I love you beautiful angel. Until we meet again my beautiful sister in law. 😘❤️💔💔

Judy you were such a terrific friend and I’m so glad we got closer these past couple of years. You made me laugh. I loved that you send me “I love you” messages all the time on Facebook messenger. You are such a beautiful soul inside and out. You survived death 12 times previously to this. You have a strong faith and I have no doubt you will live out eternity in Heaven with God and your past loved ones. I’m so glad I got to say goodbye to you. It just seems so unfair. Dave all my love and condolences to you & your family. You are so loved. Say Hi to my Dad Tom for me and my recently passed sweet dog Raspberry. Gone but never forgotten. I will see you again Judy. I love you so much. 💗
