Judy E. Yoder, 58
October 29, 2024
Judy E. Yoder, 58, of Lititz, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, peacefully in her home surrounded by family as she wished. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Miriam J. (Moyer) Shenk and the late Ray D. Shenk. She was married 35 years to her beloved husband, Millard Yoder.
Judy was a graduate of Warwick High School and obtained an associate’s degree in nursing. She spent her career serving others as a nurse for Lancaster General Hospital, Brethren Village, and home care nursing. She had the sweetest heart and always put others before herself. Judy loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion with others. Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed seeking the newest adventure with her family and enjoyed being outdoors camping, skiing, hiking, boating and fishing, teaching her kids to love the same. She loved traveling, motorcycle riding, and cruises alongside her husband. She was a prayer warrior and an active member of Newport Church. In the early years she was a part of the Worship team. Judy was the definition of perseverance and determination. In recent years, Judy knitted over 2200 baby hats to be sent overseas despite physical difficulties. She had a triumphant spirit and was a true fighter during her 20+ years of illness. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
In addition to her husband, Judy is survived by 2 children: Kristy Yoder and Derek Yoder (Courtney Arndt); 4 siblings: Daryl Shenk (Krista), Bruce Shenk (Jodie), Marjorie Spang (Dan), and Merle Shenk (Cheree); as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers: Dean Shenk and Gerald Shenk (Julia); and 2 nephews: Ethan and Ryan Shenk.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Newport Church, 656 W. Newport Rd, Elm, PA 17521. The family will receive guests beginning at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Judy’s name to National Scleroderma Foundation, scleroderma.org/, or to KPETS (Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services), kpets.org/support/.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your mother, wife, and sister, Judy. I’ll never forget the days she helped me load things in the snack truck, or assisted me on the snack route. I was blessed to know your family outside work too. May the Lord grant you His peace and comfort as we rejoice that she is more perfectly whole than we and we shall see her again!! Love you all!
