Judith Viskupic, 77

Judith Viskupic, 77, of Gordonville, PA passed peacefully on February 21, 2024. Judy was born in the borough of Manhattan, NY on July 1, 1946, daughter of Lucille and Frank Petrocelli, and grew up in Corona, Queens, NY.

She attended St. Leo’s Catholic School, Newtown High School, and St. John’s University. Judy was employed by Swiss Credit Bank and Knickerbocker Federal Savings and Loan in Manhattan, and subsequently upon moving to Smithtown, Long Island, the St. James Elementary School as a Special Ed teaching assistant.

She also served the Holy Cross Parish in Nesconset, Long Island as a Religious Education teacher. Judy’s interests included a love of reading, cooking, gardening, and traveling, and a cherished memory was the summer of 1988 when the whole family took a nine-week cross country trip and visited many national parks together. Friends and neighbors remember Judy as a friendly, sweet, and caring neighbor who always had a nice smile and was devoted to her family.

Surviving her are her husband of 56 years, Roy Viskupic, who she married at St. Leo’s Church on Easter Sunday, 4/14/68. Also surviving are three children: Brian married to Lara, Karen married to Mark Schmitz and Eric married to Erin Bennett, five grandchildren: Olivia, Luke, Ryan and Natalie Viskupic and Gus Schmitz.

Bachman-Snyder Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street in Strasburg is overseeing arrangements. Viewing will be from 5-7 pm on Sunday and 12 – 1 pm on Monday with a Prayer Service beginning at 1 pm. Memorial donations may be made to CrossNet Ministries, 123 W. Franklin St, New Holland, PA 17557
