Judith Ann Huey, 83

September 19, 1938

Judith Ann Huey, 83, of Lebanon, passed away at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon on Friday, December 3, 2021. She was born and raised in Lancaster, the daughter of the late George L. and Rose L. (Darrenkamp) Yoder.

Judy worked at San Giorgio Pasta Company for 20 years, retired, and then at Cedar Grill in Lebanon until early 2021, where her “Hostess with the Mostest” attitude helped start the restaurant.

She was a woman of Faith, and a great role model with strong morals. Judy had a great sense of humor, and she helped those less fortunate.

Judy was a very loving mother, who made each of her children feel like they were her favorite. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, her four aunts, and her sister-in-law. Completing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and knitting were some of her interests.

Judy is survived by her son, James E. Huey, Jr., husband of Kathy Harbour of Newport Beach, CA; daughter, Lori L. Wagner, with whom she lived; son, Daren J. Huey, husband of Jenna (Eckenrode) of Richmond, VA; 6 grandchildren, and her brother, Daniel G. Yoder, husband of Linda, of Greenville, NC. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald G. Yoder in 2017, husband of Nancy of Lakeland, FL.

A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 AM, followed by the funeral at 11 AM on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St, Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.

The family requests that guests are required to wear a mask.

I am so sorry for your loss of your dear mother, Judy. She the dearest neighbor and friend to my mother, Arlene. I know they are in heaven talking and laughing the way they did on their front porches. God bless Judy and her dear family.

During our late teens and college years, Rick/Jamie/Jeff (Harp/Hu/Botch) were “Judy’s boys”, just like they were Ann Harpel’s boys.  We hung out in Iona and smam in Huey’s pool or lifted weights in Harpel’s garage.  Weekends, we grabbed a case of Miller ponies and cruised the Lebanon strip, and usually ended up at any one of a variety of clubs: Pushnick’s waterfall room, the G man, Kass’s, Treadway Inn.   Judy was always worried about our safety and insisted we check in when we were done carousing.  She always loved to hear our stories of escapades.  Judy was warm and caring – never judgemental.  Always kind. Never once did I see her disapproving nor angry.  She let “boys be boys”.  Her children tell a similar story of A WONDERFUL MOTHER!

Judy was one of the few who ALWAYS made me feel like I belonged at the Cedar Grill. The kindness, sweetest, loving, woman I had the pleasure of working with.. She always wore a smile, no matter what. Lori was almost always with her on her day off when she’d dine at the Grill.
You blessed many , you will be miss. You were a woman of faith, until we see each other again. Fly high Judy!!!
My sincere and deepest condolences to Lori and her family and friends.
We were blessed to have crossed paths with her.
