As a real estate agent, I had the honor of meeting Joe in 1999.  Joe purchased his home from me.  Then he called me again in 2006 to sell that home.  Joe was a great guy.  Always happy, always respectful and just a pleasant person to be around.  I last saw Joe working at the Quarryville Fair a couple of years later, and we got to say hello to each other again.  Joe was the type of person that impacted your life and made you realize how kindness can impact others.  My condolences to his family.  Joseph L. Dennison was a great man!

In 1980 I had the chance to meet Joe at PP&L as I was hoping to land a summer/maybe long term future job. I was not sure of my future at the time, as I had been a teen with no real clear destiny. I can assure all who read this,  attending a university was not on top of the choices back then. Joe, in the hours he took from his job that warm spring day changed me, and changed me forever.  Joe gave me something money could not buy nor eductaion at the time not taught. To someone who he never met before, didn’t know, or would never see again…………he gave me a persperective to consider in then my short 18 year life. To my luck, for reasons I will never know, he seemed to care about me. That very day, that meeting, that man changed who I was at the time and who I became. For years and years I wondered about him and always wanted to say thank you to him for what he gave to me that day.Very sadely, I now know where he is and my words are to late. Today, as 37 years have past since I met Joe and I failed to ever tell him what he did for me. For that I am deeply saddened.
To his family, I say I have used his teachings now 100’s of times over the years as I became a sucessful Electrical and Chemical Engineer. I have shared his vision with many students who have worked for me as young coop’s as they were forming into adults educated in the engineering field. Let’s just say I continue to pay it forward, for Joe. I will never pay back what I owe that man for how he changed my life on that spring day, never.
Thank you for sharing your Son, Father, Husband, Uncle,…………. he and I only had hours to share, but it has changed me for decades.
Rest well Joe, and Thank You
TK
