Joseph Emmanuel Pena
Joseph Emmanuel Pena, age 49, of Jupiter, Fla., died Saturday, September 23, 2006, at Hospice of Palm Beach County in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Born in Puerto Rico, he was a resident of Jupiter for six years, coming from Lancaster, PA. He was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church where he donated his time and talents in making the vestments, alter clothes, and preparations for special occasions. He also worked with the Supervisor of Elections with training, elections and early elections from 2001 to the present.
He was the son of the late Miguel Pena and Carmen (Ortiz) Pena of Queens Village, NY, who survives.
He is also survived by his life partner of 19 years, Gregory Wiker of Jupiter, FL; three sons: James E. Pena of Philadelphia, PA; Jeremy E. Pena of Cedar Lakes, Indiana; and Jason E. Pena of Manheim, PA; three sisters: Gladys Bentivaglio of Bronx, New York; Aida Hallen of Brooklyn, New York; and Sister-Evelyn Melendez of Wallkill, New York; and a brother, James Pena of Queens Village, New York. Two grandchildren also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philips Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Millersville at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2006. Interment will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 441 N George St, Millersville, PA. The Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday evening.
