Joseph E. Mulligan Jr., 87

January 22, 1937 - February 17, 2024

Joseph E. Mulligan, Jr., a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on February 17, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 22, 1937, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Joseph E. Mulligan Sr. and Sylvia (Stonesiffer) Mulligan.

Joe was a man of honor and dedication, enrolling in the United States Army in February 1956 and proudly serving his country until February 1959. His service exemplified his commitment to duty and selflessness.

Beyond his military career, Joe found joy and had a passion for dancing and oil painting, expressing his creativity and appreciation for the arts. He also cherished his time spent at OCMD with his family and was a die-hard fan of the Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Boston Celtics.

In the community, he was a pillar of support and mentorship. As a proud and awarded basketball coach for NorthEastern, he positively impacted the lives of many young athletes throughout the years, instilling in them the values of teamwork and perseverance.

Known for his charismatic and engaging personality, Joe was a natural storyteller with an amazing sense of humor. His presence brought light and laughter to those around him, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of over 26 years, Aidees Rodriguez, his children Timothy Mulligan of MD, Kevin Mulligan (husband of Anya) of MD, Croix Mulligan of York, and Jamie Shirato (wife of Matthew) of Lancaster. He is also survived by his step-children, Yesenia (wife of Clinton) and Pedro, as well as his granddaughter Kylie and step-grandchildren Aaron, Cameron, and Corinn.

A memorial service to honor his life will be held on February 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory – 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests from 2 PM until the time of service.
