Ellen, Allen, Katie, and Danny, we were so sad to hear of Joe’s passing and sorry we could not be with you because of these difficult times.  Having spent time with you we saw the bonds of love in your family.  We saw your joy Ellen when the two of you were together and we saw his best qualities in you, Allen, Katie and Danny.  Especially, you mirrored your Dad’s kindness and outgoing spirit.  We lost him too early and we know some of the pain you are going through having lost our parents.  We can say that it will get better with time.  Take comfort in the hope that because of the cross, if we embrace Jesus, we can all be reunited someday in heaven where every tear will be wiped away and there will be no more sorrow.  We mourn with you and will remember you in our prayers.

Margie and I are very sorry to learn of Joe’s passing. Joe was a great support to me and our “Woodies Team”!! He left a wonderful legacy! His obituary describes it quite well. I am so sorry for the loss of Joe — You guys were a perfect match for each other.  Running thru my mind are those bus rides to DePaul with Joe and other mates.  There was always laughter never a sad moment — of course I hung out with Joe at times away from school — it was always fun – happy times — that black Chevy Impala convertible was the class of the day — Joe was a guy’s guy , a gentleman but even better he was a great person , husband and father.  Joe is in my prayers as you are, the kids and G-kids — always be safe — be healthy — hope to see you down the line.   Bob Thunell
