Joseph B. Hanna, 62
Joseph B. Hanna, 62, of Lancaster died Thursday, September 25, 2008 at his home. Born in Cecil County, Maryland, he was the son of the late David and Elsie Speakman Hanna. Joseph was the husband of Mary Griest Hanna and they were married for 42 years in January. He was a machine operator for Thomson 60 Case for 35 years and retired in 2002.
His memberships include, AMVETS Post 19, VFW of Gap, and the Moose Lodge 307.
Joe enjoyed yard work, riding his exercise bicycle, going to the beach, boating and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife are three children: Thomas W. husband of Mary Griest of Lancaster, Margaret wife of Jere Chapman of Lancaster, Joseph L. Hanna of Lancaster, five grandchildren: Lindsay and Jessica Griest, Curtis Rineer, Elizabeth and Gabrielle Chapman, four brothers; David and Richard Hanna of Oxford, PA, Steve and Samuel Hanna of Lancaster County, and a sister, Margaret wife of Luis Colon of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa M. Hanna, and four sisters; Pat, Peg Doris and Minney.
A funeral service will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King Street, Lancaster, PA on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 2:00PM. Interment will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Lancaster, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00- 2:00PM. Please omit flowers.
