Jose Rosember Garcia, 57
November 25, 2020
Jose Rosember Garcia, 57, of Manheim, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Born in El Salvadore, Jose was the son of Miguel Cerna and the late Esperanza Concepcion Garcia. He was the loving husband of Maria E. (Gomez) Garcia, with whom he celebrated 24 years of marriage.
Of the Christian Faith, Jose came to the United States when he was only 25 and began a long-time career as a bus driver, working for the Red Rose Transit Authority, where he was known as a dependable and hard-working driver. He was a professional operator and was respected by both his coworkers and passengers. He was also a very loyal member of the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1241, where he attended rallies and education training. He would speak to the newest members, particularly the Hispanic operators, about joining the Union to keep it strong.
Although driving bus was important to him, his greatest love in life was his family, with who he enjoyed spending his free time. Jose also had a soft-heart for animals of all kinds.
In addition to his wife and father, Jose is survived by his children: Rosember Garcia, of Lancaster and Marilis Garcia, of Florenceville, GA; his step children: Nephtali Moran and William Moran, both of Manheim; his Granddaughter, Khinary; and step grandchildren: Esmerelda and Cole.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 1PM to 2PM at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Graveside services will follow at Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Manheim.
