Jose A. Rodriguez, 81

Jose A. Rodriguez, 81, of Lancaster died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Born in Utuado, PR, Jose was the son of the late Juan Rodriguez and Cruz Medina. He was married to Juana Sanchez Rodriguez for 48 years.

A retired construction worker in Puerto Rico, Jose was a member of San Juan Bautista Catholic Church and the Lancaster Spanish Center. He enjoyed walking, gardening, playing Dominos, listening to old, traditional Spanish music, and watching boxing and baseball. He also loved spending time with his family. All his grandchildren called him “Welo”.

In addition to his wife, Jose is survived by his children, Blanca Rodriguez, Maribel Rodriguez, Migdalia Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, Griselle Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Geraldo Rodriguez, Javier Rodriguez, Milagros Rodriguez, Esther Medina and Angel Luis Medina; 35 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mass of Christian Burial from San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, 425 S. Duke St., Lancaster, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Viewings will be held at the on Thursday and Friday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA, and again at the church on Saturday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Interment in Mellingers Mennonite Cemetery.
