John Wolf Wissler, 87

John Wolf Wissler, 87, of Millway, Warwick Twp., died Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in the family homestead in Millway, he was the son of the late Levi Kreiter and Mabel Rupp (Wolf) Wissler. John and his loving wife Evelyn June (Weik) Wissler would have marked 63 years of marriage today, Sunday, November 8th.
A graduate of Warwick Township High School in Rothsville and Lancaster Business School, John first worked as an accountant for Penn Dairies. He then served in the US Army as a Staff Sergeant with the 1167 Wire OPN Company 304th Signal Battalion during the Korea War. Next, John worked as an accountant for Irl Daffin, Inc., Lancaster and finally as controller of Jerome H. Rhoads, Inc., Lancaster.
John was a Godly man and a longtime member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rothsville. He enjoyed reading a daily devotional. A quiet, reserved, kind and generous man, John deeply loved his family and enjoyed being in their midst.
In addition to his wife Evelyn, John is survived by a son, John David Wissler of Lititz, a daughter, Jeanine, wife of Jeffrey Schreiber of Leola; two grandchildren, Brandon Schreiber, husband of Kristen and Brooke, wife of Christopher Maharg; three great-grandchildren, Jaidyn and Jessa Maharg and Ryan Schreiber; two brothers, Levi W. Wissler, husband of Ruth of Ephrata and Paul W. Wissler of Lititz; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Wissler of Lancaster. John was preceded in death by his siblings Henry Wissler and Martha Brubaker.
The Funeral and Military Honors will take place 11 am Friday, November 13, 2015, with Rev. Jeffrey H. Goodman officiating, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. John’s family will greet friends immediately following the funeral. Interment will be private. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, 36 Church St., Lititz, PA 17543.

We’ve been honored to know John since 1989. What a kind gentleman he was to my family. Our prayers are with John David and his mother and the entire family at this time. he will be greatly missed by all, i am sure.
