John W. Hammond, 68
John W. Hammond, 68, of Charlestown MD, passed away on May 19th, 2009 at his residence. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George Jr and Harriet (Eckenrode) Hammond. John was the husband of Robin Speckman-Hammond.
Mr. Hammond was employed by ALCOA from where he retired and N.C.R. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was an avid boater and after retirement spent his time on the Chesapeake Bay. John was a member of the V.F.W. in North East Maryland.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Kimberly Hammond of Parkesburg, MD, Kathleen M. Hess of New Providence, seven grandchildren, Michael, Erica, John Jr., Joleen, Ralphie IV, Charlie, Joey, three brothers, George Hammond III of Inverness IL., Lawrence E. Hammond of Mountville, Philip E. Hammond of Lancaster and John’s former wife Suzanne M. Hammond of Landisville.
A viewing will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home and Chapel Inc. 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, 17543 on Tuesday, May 26th, 2009 from 7PM until 9PM and Wednesday May 27th, 2009 from 12PM until 1PM with the service at 1PM.
