The Wilkinsburg FireFighters express our deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved Father, GrandFather, GreatGrandFather and Friend.  Many of us at the WFD did not have the opportunity to work with Mr. Vanande and some may not have even had the pleasure to meet him.  However, his stories and legacy live on, and forever will.  From our veteran FireFighters, I have never heard a bad thing said about "Jocko".  He was reliable on the job, able to fix anything and a pleasure to work with.  For those who did not get to work with him, we were so grateful to have him at our Family Picnics and 100 Year Anniversary.  It is a sad day for the WFD for we have lost one of our best.  Please know that we all appreciate the years of service and sacrifice that Jocko gave to this Borough and our Department.  We will keep the Family in our thoughts and prayers as we remember our Fallen Brother.
Rest in Peace Jocko.

On behalf of all of the Wilkinsburg FireFighters,
Brian Trovato, President
