John, along with Kelly, faithfully taught a Sunday School class for many, many years. Being with John, he would share with me that he was not upset at all with the Lord for being stricken with cancer, he showed a real and honest peace, had no fear of dying and the one thing he thought a lot about was seeing Jesus! John received a Godly heritage from his parents and now himself has left a Godly heritage to his entire family. May we all desire to do the same, before we leave this short, earthly life.
With my continued prayers and much love, Don Landis

Sympathy and prayers for the whole family. It was beautiful to see the tribute photos and the obvious love among you all. Diane, I remember your family from way back when Craig was sick. You and my mom became friends. I remember the faith you all had, and it’s wonderful to see that same faith continued in your son and his family. Mom passed in 2021. Surely she and Craig were part of John’s welcoming committee, as well as my dad who also passed from bone cancer in 1983. My heart goes out to you and your husband. So grateful to Jesus for His incredible sacrifice and His unfailing love for us. Phyllis Cheatham (Jeanne Frey’s daughter)

John was one of the best and smartest ballplayers I’ve ever been associated with as a player and coach. I learned so much of the game just by watching him play. Even more than a ballplayer, Brownie was a greater person just to be around. I’m a better person just by knowing him, I know we all are.
