John J. “Jack” Cassidy, Jr., 76

John J. “Jack” Cassidy, Jr., 76, of Collingdale, PA passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Hospice of Lancaster County. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John and Sara Horan Cassidy. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis J. Miller Cassidy.

Mr. Cassidy was a Zen Buddhist and a member of the Philadelphia Buddhist Association. Mr. Cassidy was a talented musician and a skilled drummer. He served in the United States Air Force. Jack played in the 2nd Air Force dance band, marching band, and officer’s club trio.

In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by three daughters: Susan E. Cassidy, wife of Michael Raftery residing in California, Cathy Cassidy residing in Lancaster, and Leslie Laurel, wife of Donald Keeth residing in Willow Street; two brothers: Thomas Cassidy of Sharon Hill, Arthur Cassidy of California, and one sister, Marie Cassidy of Sharon Hill; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, John Lloyd Cassidy.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz at 1:00 pm with Rev. Genro Lee Milton Abbot of Endless Mountain Zembo officiating. There will be a viewing at the funeral home from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. Military honors will be rendered by the Red Rose Honor Guard at the conclusion of the service. Interment will be at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125. Arrangements by the Charles F.
