John F. “Pete” Kaufman, 83

John F. “Pete” Kaufman, 83, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at his Strasburg Township home. Known as Pete to his family and friends and Pop-Pop to his grandchildren, he shared 63 years of marriage with his wife, Jean A. Urban Kaufman.

Born in Philadelphia, Pete worked in electrical maintenance for Skyline Homes, Inc. in Leola. As an accomplished handyman, he had the supplies and “know how” to fix almost anything. He loved to tinker.

Pete was an outdoorsman who loved to trap, hunt, and fish. He liked to take his family out on Sunday drives. What he most enjoyed was time and games with family. He was previously active with Gordonville Fire Company.

Pete’s family includes his wife Jean and two daughters, Cyndi Nicoladse, wife of Victor of Coatesville, and Carol S. King, wife of Reuben of Lancaster, two sons, John F. Kaufman, Jr., husband of Marcie (Houck) of New Holland, and Joe M. Kaufman, companion of Michelle Kammerer-Spina of Willow Street; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Amanda), Vincent (Amanda), Loriann (Matthew), Brittany (Jason), Natalya (Mike), Tyler, Elizabeth, and Easton; and 9 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ryker, Charlotte, Madelyn, Milena, William, Wyatt, Siena, and Harrison.

A funeral will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, with Pastor Amos Dienner officiating, at Bachman Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA 17579. Pete’s family receive guests from 10 to 11 am. Interment will be in Conestoga Memorial Park.
