John E. “Pop” Arcuri, 74
John E. “Pop” Arcuri, 74 of Lancaster, PA, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was married to Hazel M. Pemberton Arcuri for 52 years. Born in Marion, OH, he was the son of the late Constantino A. and “Bessie” E. Conti Arcuri.
Pop graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Marion, OH. He worked 42 years in the animal feed industry, lastly as a supervisor at Purina Mills, Lancaster, for 17 years. He was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Lancaster, and regularly attended Hosanna! A Fellowship of Christians, Lititz. Pop volunteered with Welcome Wagon.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Pop is survived by his wife Hazel; two sons, Mark A., husband of Michelle Arcuri, Freeburg, PA, and Guy M., husband of Marie Flow Arcuri, Winston-Salem, NC; seven grandchildren, Brian and Rachel Neff, John-Michael, Tyler and Matthew Arcuri and Hope and Matthew F. Arcuri. One of ten children, he has six living siblings and was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa M. Neff.
Pop’s Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 14, 2011. The family will host a fellowship/visitation from 12-1 PM at Hosanna! A Fellowship of Christians. Pop’s memorial service will begin at 1 PM, with Pastor Deb Helt officiating. A light lunch will be served afterward. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Pop’s memory to Hosanna! A Fellowship of Christians, 29 Green Acre Road, Lititz, PA 17543. Being in Florida, we just learned of John’s death. We are deeply saddened to get the news. Although time has separated us, we will always value fond memories of John and his special family. Although belated, our condolences are being send with our prayers and best wishes.
