John A. Weiss, 83
March 22, 1941 - April 05, 2024
John A. Weiss, 83 of Lititz, Pennsylvania. Passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, with his beloved wife, Christine, by his side.
Our father was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on March 22, 1941. The son of Robert and Carolyn Weiss.
He attended Reading High School and Kutztown University, acquired his Bachelors of Science in Biology and taught school for a time. My parent’s love story began when my Dad worked at the Crystal Restaurant in Reading, PA. and my mother was the hostess. They had a daughter and then moved to Lancaster County and had a son.
Our father loved watching sports and could recite sports stats better than anyone I knew. He was an avid fan of the Phillies, Eagles and the ‘Sixers’. He also loved boating, a good cigar (when he was younger) and a good joke.
He was a member of the Lancaster Liederkranz and the Elk’s Club. Our Dad was a great Salesman and worked for Hallmark Cards in his early career. He founded Lancaster Snack Machine and our parents were also the proud owners of the German Deli for many years.
John is survived by his wife, Christine Weiss, his daughter, Renee Weiss, his son, Andrew Weiss, daughter-in-law, Tonya (Mueller) Weiss, Grandson, Austin Weiss and Grandson, Logan Zimmermann, his sisters: Jane Morgan and Lynn Weaver. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Weiss and Carolyn (Kline) Weiss.
He will be sorely missed.
A funeral honoring John will be held at 11 AM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests from 10 AM until the time of service. Interment to follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.
